Yesterday was day 14 of the 21 day sugar detox. It was also a Friday, and if there’s 1 thing I love, it’s Fridays.
My day started with a workout with my personal trainer and a 485 calorie burn.
I had a sausage for breakfast (for protein) accompanied by my first green smoothie!! I used baby spinach, avocado, green apple, coconut water, almond milk, coconut flakes, spirulina and maca powder. It tasted absolutely delicious and gave me so much energy all day!! I only consumed 2 cups of coffee at work as opposed to my usual 6!!! It also kept me full from 8:30am until lunch at 12:30! What a discovery. I’m an official green smoothie lover.
For lunch I had another beef and bacon paleo wrap using leftover mix from dinner the night before. I had a side of broccoli and green beans.
As a snack I had some chicken breast, sweet potato and zucchini.
It was all going so well until 7pm hit. I was out with friends, there was beer everywhere and I was having fun, unwinding and in the mood to party.
Did I break my pact? – Yes.
Do I regret it? – No.
I woke up today (day 15), hungover and craving major carbiness and sugar. I decided today would be a write-off and I’ve been polluting my body all day long. I’ll make up for it with a 3-hour gym session tomorrow morning.
I had some beer, some wine, some bread, some sweets…well it was a good and proper cheat and I loved it. I’m disappointed I didn’t resist but that doesn’t mean it stops here! Everyone deserves to be naughty sometimes! We can’t be green-smoothie drinking, yoga-practising, leafy veg-eating angels the whole time. Remember the 80/20 rule.
